Assisitive Technology

Assistive technology is technology or telecare that is used to assist people to perform tasks that may otherwise be difficult. It is used to enhance support and people’s lives so they can be more independent.

At The SLC Group we use a variety of assistive technology devices to assist the people we support with communication, mobility and security. Our aim is to enhance our support so individuals can gain skills and achieve higher levels of independence.

Examples of Assistive technology currently being used by SLC include:

  • Epilepsy Sensors

  • Care phones

  • Epilepsy mats

  • Panic buttons

  • Electronic communication boards

We link in with Local Authority Assistive Technology Teams to assess individuals who may benefit from assistive technology and to find ways in which it can improve the quality of a service.
