Social Care provider Signposts Ltd has joined The SLC Group.
Liverpool based organisation, Signposts, deliver supported living and outreach services to adults with a range of learning disabilities and mental health needs in their own homes or shared tenancies. This week they have become part of The SLC Group, which is made up of SLC Raglin and SLC Paragon, who together provide housing related and specialist community support services for people with learning disabilities, physical and sensory disabilities, mental health needs and autism across The North of England and the Midlands.
SLC Group Chief Executive, Charles Eggleston, said: “I am delighted to announce that Signposts has joined The SLC Group to add expertise and depth to the services we provide across Merseyside. Signpost’s services mirror the current support we provide across the area - enabling people with learning disabilities and mental health needs to live independently and achieve their potential. I have met with a number of staff and individuals from Signposts over the last few weeks and am truly impressed by the commitment and high level of support being delivered across Liverpool and I am looking forward to utilising the knowledge and expertise of the current team to really drive forward positive outcomes for the people we support across the area.”
Signposts owner and Registered Manager, Maureen Little, said: “After making the difficult decision to retire in 2009, I needed to find a likeminded organisation who shared the values of Signposts and who would retain the local identity and reputation that Signposts has created in the area. The SLC Group is a forward thinking organisation and their vision of ‘Achieving Potential’ really incorporates the thinking behind the success of Signposts. I believe that incorporating Signposts into The SLC Group is the perfect solution and I am confident that having the expertise and backing of this larger organisation will create fantastic career opportunities for staff as they continue to drive forward positive outcomes for every person supported at Signposts.”
The main aim over the next few months is to ensure the continuity of services and excellent communication between all stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition for the people supported in Liverpool and the existing staff teams.
Charles adds: “I am looking forward to meeting many more of the staff and people supported by Signposts over the coming months and would like to take this opportunity to welcome service users, families and the new team into The SLC Group.”
