Self Directed Support
Self Directed Support gives you the freedom to pick and choose from the right providers and services in your community. This means that you have more choice and control about how your needs are met and can create the best support package for you.
What is an individual budget and how does it work?
Instead of another person, such as a Social Worker, arranging your support services for you, your funding is given directly to you. This gives you more choice and control to create the life you want.
If you have a personal budget we can offer:
-
Brokerage services to help you to get the best use out of your personal budget and get the outcomes that you want.
-
Support to give you the skills and confidence to make the right choices and decisions for you.
-
Free and easy-to-access information, support and advice.
-
Creative support planning, helping you to access the full range of community services that are available to you.
-
Support to access the funding that you’re entitled to.
-
Link to advocacy and other organisations.
-
Personal Assistant services and staff matching.
What can I buy with my individual budget?
Your individual budget can be used to purchase anything that links in with your support plan. This can include; support, a college course, one off purchases such as a gym membership to improve your health, community resources at day services, and activities, such as joining a cycling club.
